Alicante

A big, full-bodied wine that is excellent as a before or after dinner drink. This deeply coloured wine of purples and reds is sweet and aromatic. Its delectable smoothness is due to a low acid content, delivering a rich and earthy flavour, but it is mainly used to increase the intensity of colour and body in other grape varieties.

Amarone

An irresistible wine whose elegance draws you subliminally into its orbit. Intense ruby-garnet in colour, it is redolent of a profusion of aromas of coffee, cherries and sun dried fruits. Its high alcohol makes it full and generous in the mouth and it overwhelms the palate with intense flavors, prolonging your pleasure with its characteristic slightly bitter finish.

Australian Cabernet Sauvignon

Surprisingly smooth without any of the tart tannin. The fruity bouquet is rendered more enticing due to a hint of cassis, rich and dark in colour, it delivers complex varietal flavors of cherries and blackberries, with a promise of herbs.

 

Barbera

Recognized for its intensity of colour and good structure of tannin and acid, it presents nuances of gooseberries and a smoky, peppery bouquet and is often added to a blend to liven it up. Smooth on the palate this wine ages well and mellows with time.

Barolo

A wine that evokes legend and fascination with its brilliant garnet-red and flashes of amber. The bouquet is both pleasing and intense with aromatic notes of violets and oregano. Smooth in the mouth with crisp acidity, its firm but well integrated tannins give good length on the palate. It is a wine that exudes glory, nobility and power.

Bergamais

This supple, fruity and delicate red wine is best consumed young. Cherries and plums fill the nose and the sweet cherry follows through the mouth where it lingers. This refreshing wine is best served slightly chilled. It suits desserts and is excellent as an aperitif.

Bordailles Rouge

A smooth and round wine, velvety with subtle notes of berry. Dry and medium in colour, this clean and refreshing wine offers unique flavours of raspberry cassis and a touch of bell pepper aroma. Low in tannin. Generous and crisp on the palate ages well but can be enjoyed young.

Bourgeon Rouge

A dry, yet robust full-bodied French style wine with an aromatic black cherry bouquet. It has a deep colour with a fruity well-rounded flavour of cranberry and cherry. Can be consumed young, but ages well too. It is a shallow, dry - easy drinking wine with the character and elegance of the wine styles of France.

Cabernet Franc

It is usually a less tannic and acidic wine with a lighter body and colour. It is however, known to be more aromatic and herbaceous than most reds and is often blended with Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot in smaller quantities where it helps to heighten the organoleptic qualities of the blend.

 

Cabernet Merlot

Deep garnet hues, with a brilliant red sparkle. The intense nose of red fruits and herbaceous undertones rise from your glass. The wine is robust, fresh, well structured given its high ratio of Cabernet Sauvignon juice. With the addition of Merlot mellowing the wine, giving it that all too delightful appeal on the palate.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Intense red colour with purplish hues, this California favourite has the delicate perfume of cherries and soft spice. A supple wine with mouth 'smacking' appeal and simple complexity. It's full body and solid tannins deliver a fresh spicy wine with mass appeal.

Cabernet Trio

A blend of all three cabs: sauvignon, shiraz and merlot. An intense blend of red colour with purplish hues along with the fruity lush flavour of shiraz. carmenere

Once mistaken for a Merlot, this mysterious grape varietal has recently been identified as an old world pre-phylloxera clone. This wine's character is distinct with a blackcurrant nose and fruit jam flavors. Integrated consumption, although the wine ages well due to its  rich and complex nature.

Chianti

Beautiful deep garnet red with a delicate nose of red berry jam with floral hints and country berry nuances. This rich, velvety wine is full-flavoured with subtle black pepper and cherry like overtones. It can be enjoyed both young and aged.

 

franc sauvignon

Dark, rich and full-bodied, only begin to describe this wonderful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. A bouquet of blackcurrant and black cherry with a spicy undertone. A very generous wine with solid tannins and rich mellow oak, this combination will send your taste buds into a state of euphoria.

Italian Super Tuscan

Subtle hints of vanilla with robust fruit flavor and heavy untoasted oak chip character add intense tannins to the palate. This wine offers traces of the old world that are big on flavor. Lambrusco

Bright ruby red in colour with violet reflections, this wine is complex, charming and subtle. The aromas of ripe berries, a hint of cherries and subtle herbaceous finish with good length and structure. This wine has mellow tannins with hints of red fruit on the palate and an attractive freshness. It is usually consumed young and often chilled.

Malbec

This South American favourite, offers a deep garnet robe. The flavours are of intense, ripe, red fruits with a hint of cinnamon. The well balanced oak only enhances the wine's characteristics. Pairings: Grilled lamb, venison, and Mexican dishes.

Merlot

The supple, round-bodied Merlot is enjoying increased popularity as a pure varietal. Medium to dark red, it has a distinct nose of cherries, raspberries, blackcurrants and mint, also displays some herbs and spices. A smooth mellow wine balanced for easy drinking, while it's lower tannins indicate a wine that should be enjoyed relatively young.

Montepulciano

This Italian classic has a deep ruby robe, with violet reflections. It is a complex bold wine with soft peppery tones and nuances of spice, wrapped up in a velvety texture. Well structured for aging.

Petit Syrah

This varietal produces a big, robust, deep red wine with good aging potential. Because of its higher tannin levels, it is well suited to the amateur looking for a hefty red with substantial body. It is sometimes blended with Zinfandel to add some zest and complexity.

Pinot Merlot

This well rounded medium bodied wine has been crafted with smoothness and easy drinking in mind. You can expect low acidity and the absence of tannins keeping it mellow and enjoyable young. with a fruity complexity you'll be able to sense small hints of cherries, strawberries and raspberries infused with dark chocolate.

Pinot Noir

This wine has a slightly spicy nose with hints of balsawood as well as citrus notes. A soft lively fruitiness on the palate along with mellow tannins leaves of velvety finish in the mouth. It is often referred to as the chameleon of varietals. As a young wine it exhibits simple red fruit flavours such as cherry, strawberry and raspberry. As it matures it takes on a surprising complexity, with aromas of chocolate, venison, figs, prunes, truffles, violets and even a touch of smokiness.

 

Pinot shiraz

This is a premium blend of two very popular red wines: Shiraz and Pinot Noir. The blend produces a unique and superb mid to full bodied wine. Crisp acidity interplays with black pepper, black cherries, and blackberries wrapped in a chocolate coffee. Silky tannins and dark fruit on this wine create a long smooth finish.

Rio Grande Rojo

This wine has a ruby robe. Heavy rich and "BIG" in every way. Heavy toasted oak used in its design, release the earth, burnt chocolate and vanilla tones, spicy with pronounced black cherry, plum and blackcurrant undertones. A real full-bodied wine that distinguishes itself with elegance.

ruby Cabernet

A cross between Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon, it was developed to give a high yield vine in hot climate conditions. The "must" can be used to increase colour intensities in blends or it can be used to produce a light table wine.

Sangiovese

A rich dry wine. Well-balanced, strong and full-bodied with a deep ruby red colour. This wine has rich flavors of cedar and blackcurrant. It has the deep flavor of intense fruit and mellow tannins with just a hint of vanilla from the oak. The finish is clean and pleasant and is best matched with spicy foods.

santino

Santino in Italian means "Little Saint" and as this implies this blend is a premium combination of two excellent red wines: Sangioviese and Cabernet Sauvignon, one from Italy and the other from France. This elegant blend balances the distinctive Sangioviese dark fruit flavors of black cherry and wild berry, along with mocha and vanilla undertones. The Cabernet Sauvignon provides additional structure and body. The end result is a superbly unique and smooth, mid to full bodied wine.

Shiraz
